Highly acclaimed manga series “Blue Period” receiving the live action adaptation. Warner Bros. Japan revealed on Tuesday that Tsubasa Yamaguchi’s Blue Period manga will get a live-action film adaptation that will premiere on August this year in Japan.
Originally written and illustrated by Tsubasa Yamaguchi, “Blue Period” follows the story of Yatora Yaguchi, a high school student who finds himself disillusioned with the monotony of academic life. Yearning for something more, he stumbles upon the world of art and becomes enamored with the idea of pursuing it as a career. However, his newfound passion comes with its own set of challenges and sacrifices as he navigates the competitive landscape of the art world.
The Blue Period is set to be released on August 9, 2024 in Japan. As mentioned in the official trailer released by Warner Bros. Japan. It will soon screen in the other countries.
The Blue Period manga began serialization in Kodansha‘s Afternoon magazine in June 2017. The series also received an anime adaptation in 2021. Reiko Yoshida who also write the script for anime adaptation is writing the script for Blue Period live action and Kentarō Hagiwara (live-action Tokyo Ghoul) is directing the film. The Blue Period Live action will release on August 9, 2024.
